My mom currently has breast cancer and for 3 yrs has only gone and used alternative meds (diet, exercise, vitamins, etc.) Well now she is in excruciating pain and desperate. Her house burnt down in June and they took some of the insurance money and put it away to pay bills etc., however apparently the Cancer treatment center of america wants her to spend ALL OF THE MONEY, before they give her any help. So what it sounds like to me is she needs to lose her "new" house and car and have no food to eat in order to get treatment. Is there anywhere anyone can lead me to so I can help her? Can she get disability maybe or does she need to have a bank account of 0 as well to get that. I mean it's not like she has a lot of money... MAYBE... MAYBE... $15,000. Just a little cushion for her and her husband. Unemployment is pushing her to get a job but the cancer has spread to her lymph nodes and she is hurting so much she tells me she can't even think about working at this point. This is a lady who used to work 70 hours a week so it's not that she doesn't want to, it just hurts her too much. I hope someone knows something about somewhere that could be of help. I don't mind doing all the research myself, I'm just hoping to be led into the right direction. Thank you all in advance. And I'm sorry I am not here much. So much is happening and when I find a little more time, I will take it to explain everything...
