Hey John and Karen and all-

Well, John, ditto on Ron Paul, but as much as I like him and agree he is gaining support, he's not gaining enough to get what he needs to win, so that's disappointing. I wish he would win, I think he'd be the best and most trustworthy person........but these are my feelings and I don't want to get going on politics and get anyone upset considering this is a chronic pain wite, though I just had to say Ditto John to you!
I can understand about myofacial pain as I have TMJ and had a bone infection in my left mandible years ago, so understand pain and problems with that type of thing. Doesn't seem it gets better, and from experience, most TMJ surgery does NOT work long-term, may help you feel better short term, but not for the long haul and I woudln't recommend it. Even though I know more and more getting TMJ replacements or basically like the new replacements but for the TM joint, they are still fairly new, and it's just a BIG guess as to if it will help or not, meaning nobody will know until after surgery and after a LONG time of it. I know one person who had the TMJ implants and she is doing pretty good but still has some pain, but it's taken well over a year or longer to get to this point now.....................and it just depends on how things go daily too at times. She IS doing much better though, so I have hope one day things may be really good that way and I intend to wait and see.............unless I get THAT bad, which isn't there yet. I'm just not ready for such surgery and refuse to think about it. IF they could tell me without a doubt, I'd be PAIN free meaning I'd never again have to take pain meds to help lessen the TM and facial pain, then absolutely I'd have TMJ implants done but since they can't say that, I'm no wait and see for the future.

Karen, hope you are doing better. You've had a rough time of it. Glad your blood reports are good so far, they need to stay that way. I hear ya about no help for those of us looking for work but can't find it and for those on SSD who need help and others like us. It's SO UNfair the way things are in our country. AND thanks to most of our representatives and leaders, it's not getting better, and I don't know if it will, and I'm afraid of who could get in because I can see our country going down deeper. I am like so many--in debt with nothing and owe so much (student loans from nursing school and now PA though I'm not a PA....yet and won't be for at least 3+ years assuming I DO get in again), and right now, my loans come due for repayment by May and June, though I can start paying off the undergrad loan, I can in NO way pay the amount due on the private student loan and I sure do NOT want to think of bankruptcy because then I'll never get into PA school or anything else unless I have the funds to pay for it all, and THAT won't be......and I don't intend to hit the pain and not pay back what I owe. I wouldn't want to, so I believe for me getting BACK into PA school IS MY chance to have a decent life and payoff debt.............but hey, I'd love to win a lotto or something to help me, family, and others out....................

Anyway, I understand waht you are tlaking about. Just try to get some rest, try to not worry about things like your family, do the best you can, and do whatyou can, but not to a point where you just get your health down. I have learned so much in looking back at PA school, and one thing I do know NOW is that though I will always ALWAYS love and worry about myfamily no matter whatere or what I am in or doing at a given instant, I do know that dong something you dream of or want to do that is so important to you IS crucial to go for and get until you achieve it. I know NOW that I can handle PA school, and NO it won't be any easier at all, but it's an attitude thing. I also know that geting rest like I am doing yet studying in between still searching for an RN job is so important because it's the rest and the rest the brain needs that helps you to remember and recall the information that PA programs slam you with............I know lots of folks tried to tell me that but I woudln't listen to it.......and so my focus went, I was so tired all of the time I just oculd not think and remember squat, and yes sometimes we HAVE lessons to learn, so I suspect this/these have been those I need to learn............and am and have and will not forget the nest time because I KNOW I will get in again. I hae faith, belief and real confidence in both myself and God it will be come June 2009 at the latest.........................................
