I stopped by late, but only had a 4.8K connection at best , acccording to the icon thingy. So it wasn't working too well anyway. I haven't tried Yahoo direct yet, but today I'm recovering from straightening out the trailer skirting I've been listening to people bitch about all winter. BIG SURPRISE!! The heating bill this year wasn't much different from last year, when all the skirting was up. That insulation they tack under the floor does wonders, a lot more than vinyl panels with about 20% vent panels. The trailer owner couldn't believe the water lines never froze, but they're clear back in the rear of the trailer, where the beams are only about 3" off the ground. The cats had a nice place to stay out of the snow, probably had some raccoons, field mice, and other critters for roommates too. But there was no way I was going out there and try to wrestle that vinyl in sub 50 temps, having it brittle and crack all over the place. Plus I just didn't feel like staying outsided too long when it was 25 deg F

But today was nice and sunny so I cleaned up the yard and and fixed the skirting. Now all I have to do is get a new element for the water heater, wait for Tina to get the laundry caught up after the washer broke down so I can take a shower without moving a tubful of dirty clothes out (been taking a lot of sponge baths, but it's just not the same as a good hot shower). But with the bottem element gone in the water heater, you only get about 4 min of hot water anyway. I thought about switching them out, it would give you more reserve, but it's just not worth the work. I'm too sore, and I can't take any more. As far as I know, no one ever died from being dirty, if they would we wouldn't have the homeless problem ....

I got a letter from the SSI lawyer or someone saying they'd notify me within 20 days of my ALJ hearing, I don't know if I'm supposed to fill the forms out or not. Usually they send a cover sheet telling me so if I do. I think I just need it filled out before the hearing, that may not be for another 2 1/2 years when I turn 50, and hopefully my meds will be changed by then. To something better. I've resorted to trying the new arthritis remedies again when I can afford them, but nothing works. I gotta get the PM off the tri-copy rx pad and give me some percs ...

But I don't see him till May, he wrote me rxs until then, and the newly hired receptionist/accountant balanced my last rx out to the day, only I think she shorted me a day or 2. No biggie, I've had to cut down to 10 mg on the meth anyway from overdoing it when I ran out of breakthroughs. I hope this new staff of his don't start talking pill counts.

Nothing much else has changed, still no transportation, (I do have a story there, but I'm not ready for a public confession yet), just found out today Harold hasn't paid the satellite bill in 3 mos, so it'll be turned off unless she REALLY bingos tonight. I don't remember the last time the pain's been below 6, I tried last night but after 3 beers she made me sober up before she'd let me have the car, so I never really got to the 'feeling no pain' stage. Trying to get drunk twice in one night is too strenuous. I just took a handful of Ks and figured I'd try again tonight. When she did turn me loose with the car, I had to go to Walmart to get her ice cream, and all they had in 'Stones was the 30 pack, so the crisper's filled to capacity tonight. I'm starting at 6, should have the pain pretty well under control by 9 or so, unless something else comes up. Which I am totally expecting, I also don't remember the last time I caught a break.

Hope to catch some one in here tonight, she's at bingo so I don't have to worry about the proxy BS until 10 or 11, later if I get lucky and she hangs out at her buddy's place afterwards. But, she does that, I'll have a whole new set of rumors to listen to next week. You know the kind of people, you agree with something they say just to get them off the subject, next day they're on the phone saying you brought the subject up. I don't even answer the phone when she calls anymore, I'm afraid if I tell her Tina's asleep, she'll have the sherrif out here investigatiing me for her murder within a few hours .....

We really do need to let off some steam. Hope we can get together and pop the vents I'll be checking in later, if I don't fall off my chair .....

The way you posted it, I think you're referring to Elton John's "Saturday Night's All Right For Fighting". Although a simple Google search will turn up everything from "Looking For the Heart of Saturday Night" by Tom Waites to "Jukebox Saturday Night" by Glen Miller. Saturday night is so cool, for those who have a 5 day work week. For those of us who don't have a work week, it's just another night. Tonight I think is better than last night (Sunday night opposed to Saturday) only because it's still warm, and the sky is clear. Another few beers and some warm clothes, I could go out and lay in the lawn and look up at the stars .... I love doing that. Especially when your brain is inhibited, or uninhibited as the case may be. Sometimes you can almost comprehend the emensity of the universe, or at least our galaxy. Well, ok, the moon. Imagine, you only have to propel yourself a 180,000 to a quarter of a million miles out of the earth's atmoshpere and the moon's gravity will draw you the rest of the way. But what do you do once you get there? No air, no beer, no Vicodin. That's gotta suck. Just think, even if you remembered your smokes, you couldn't light one. No oxygen.

And now they want to settle Mars. I don't see the point. There may have been life on Mars at one time, but what happened to it? It got too cold. The universe is expanding. That means Mars will be farther away from the Sun if we ever do colonize it. I know, global warming, but if you pay attention, global warming will result in the failure of our natural 'heat pump' system in the Atlantic, causing global freezing. Why the entites that be didn't build in a redundancy system with the Pacific ocean, I don't know. A lot of that I don't understand. But I think if we shoot for colonizing a planet, it should be Venus. It's closer to the Sun, and when the universe expandes, it's climate will more likely be similar to Earth. But who am I? No one. A speck in the universe ...

Of course, Venus has always held a sort of feminine ambience, so maybe us men will have to succumb to the 'lesser' sex. But it won't matter, Hillary will be President next year, by the time we have the technology to colonize another planet men will be wearing powdered wigs again ...

Sorry we couldn't hook up for chat. I just tried Yahoo straight from the modem, it still says I don't have a valid password. Funny, I can still access Yahoo mail It'll take a while to figure out who or what sent what bug to my system, but in the meantime my email's still functional. I know in today's terms, email is like snail mail was 2 years ago, but it's still a great way to talk. I think my addy's still in my profile, if I have a profile. This Yuku stuff has me befuddled.
