Today, I "celebrate" my birth, count my blessings and look back at the year. Why do I have to suffer so? I did not get dressed today -- could not put on pants and shoes were just outta the question! Why so much pain and suffering? My government is scared of a plant that was once the most prescribed anagesic medicine, known and safely used my mankind for centuries for many uses. It was mentioned in the Bible and God demanded it be used as an annointing oil to cover the stench of sin. He demanded it be given Him as an offering. Our government legally supplies a handful of sufferers, but incarcerates others while ignoring their own council that this substance could ease the misery and suffering of untold numbers of sick people and that to deny it to them would be wrong. The bottom line is that it is good medicine, but it is not legally easy to get simple plant materiel. This is sick and disgusting. I don't want to get high, I just want to get on with my day. I'm sick of losing weight and being nauseous... of hot, intense nerve pain taking away my breath, my life. I have experienced sweet relief a few times and can tell you there is nothing evil, immoral or evevn un-Christian about it! I wish it were more available and accessable to ALL who need it. I am faced with either/ or and have suffered great lossesat times because of ignorance. When will we wake from this nightmare? Suffer or die. Make my family suffer or just continue to "take it" -- why such a "choice" in a situation where we have better answers? Why not legalize and regulate instead of empowering gangs and enabling huge profits to be made by organized crime? crazy dear God have mercy on us!

I don't know about your area (or other areas for that matter) but I know (from sitting thru many a court session) that the bulk of our local monies comes from people that have been busted for said natural plant. If it weren't for parking tickets (which I have gotten parking out in front of my own home) and "drug" monies our local city would be shut down. Especially now that there are literally no jobs available. I shouldn't say no jobs, but the majority of jobs for the average person are few and far between. I'm with you tho, but why would they do something that actually requires ONLY common sense??? We are a nation of "make it as difficult as possible on the average American". For example...these yeawho's have had ALL summer to fix up the roads here but do you think they did anything then??? Oh hell no, they wait until school starts and shut down all roads leading to two of the schools. Then send you a note home with your child that says "all roads are closed please use back entrance". Now, if you have ever seen the congestion at our local schools because we have no bus system so each child must get their own transportation, it's insane with two entrances open...imagine the frustration with just ONE entrance!!! I'm seriously considering taking up politics. Imagine the number of votes one would get with the mere suggestion of legalizing natural herbal remedies for medical purposes...and I really wouldn't care if it were even legalized for the purpose of recreation even. I mean, let's stop and look at the reality of things....how many "OFFICIAL" citizens have been arrested for DUI on more then one occasion???? How many have lost their lives from alcohol related incidents??? Now, compare that number to the number of people that have lost their lives from smokin a little weed??? Now there's a statistic that people might want to consider. Let's change the rules a bit and all those that get DUI get the fines and such that weed smokers get. I'll bet the cities would find more money in their budget then they've ever seen before. But because those "OFFICIAL" citizens drink rather then smoke that won't ever happen. Not that I am opposed to drinking, I have come to find that even a good drunk helps ease the pain a bit so I'm all for whatever works. But...at least with a little weed I'm not wakin up with a 3 day hangover or sleeping on the bathroom floor. And like you said, imagine the productivity of the average lay person!!!! And that, my friend, is why we would never make it in politics...we are not dumbass people stiffers...we have a bit of common sense and that is the main outlaw here in the U.S. Let's find someone thats dumb as a box of rocks rather then someone with half a brain!!! That's our motto - should be our pledge too!!! Now, I know there are those with differing opinions and that's great - its what makes us each unique individuals. I do not mean any disrespect to those that are against the legalization of marijuana. But I feel that there are situations where a little medical marijuana would greatly decrease some types of pain thereby making us more productive (and happy) individuals. And that is merely my opinion, and my opinion alone - again, no disrespect to those that feel differently. and "P"............................... HAPPY BIRTHDAY MON!!!!!

I hope the next year improves in all ways, espeically so that your pain resolves and you don't have to suffer............ Sorry Pariah for your pain and it being so bad. I don't know why people are so afriad of things, but some people have loved ones who are 'addicts' hence they think if anyone at all uses anything like a narcotic, then that person will one day too become addicted to it and you know how the story goes. WE know as painers that is so NOT true, but I've come to a point where I just get so exhausted arguing my point and explaining "Look at me, I"m NOT addicted, I have a tolerance, but I'm NOT an addict, and I am not stealking stuff to go get things off the streets, so how can they say things like that?? I don't know...I give up.......maybe that's it, like Tracy said, some of us do have common sense and can THINK with our brains as we were meant to do rather than believe what we are told by our govt. I know this is true......people can't believe their government could be WRONG. God forbid. Never..sure.................................look at things today. I don't believe we'd been in an Iraq war HAD people believed that our President was not telling the truth on the WMDs, but they believe it cause some politicians, like him say so and they don't use their common sense............................. So, I think it's true too that our govt would lose a LOT of mooney cause I know this county here makes a bunch of $$$$$ from drug stops............that is huge in Florida.......so.......I guess the only way to change things is to find someone who does believe and has common sense, thinks with his or her own brain, and tries to make sense of what is true and what is there to mislead. Maybe one day things will change. I hope so..................I hope mankind can find a way to help problems and diseases like pain, cancer, etc, not help but CURE them, and right now in our world, curing something means loss of major dollars for drug companies, doesn't it? ANd doctors too............and hospitals ..........

Several important, well documented scientific studies found cannabis to have a marked effect on cancer prevention and quite possibly treatment as well -- not just as an aid for side-effects of chemo anti-emetic, appetite stimulant or even as a pain reliever, but an actual protectant AGAINST cancer! The plant is akin to a "farmacy" with so many abilities anti-inflamatory,mood lifting, pain blocking pleasure inhancer, bodily awareness increaser -- and it is a simple plant that we pay big bucks to have comandoes in choppers rip out by the ton. High school students can buy it on the street easier than alcohol -- and yet sick people suffer and die without the HOPE that a glimmer of relief that could be had. Pleasure is nearly extinct in a person who suffers intractible pain -- pure physical "it feels good" is a rare, truly treasured experience. Yep, I found a bit of time alone to make some pot-chocolate today and sampled enough so I could have fun watching a movie and celebrating with rootbeer floats (I don't care for cake as much as rootbeer floats, so it is "traditional" on my b-day). Felt nice to relax and have fun with my fam -- and NOT to have pain skunking all the fun. I feel bad that my kids sometimes don't get more outside activities cuz dad is hurting. That sucks! Thank you all for chiming in! It means a lot to me to feel not such a "pariah". I'm living as "normal" as a person can who has this disease. I'm learning to value myself and trying to take better care of myself as well. One day at a time. Pain is the monster, not me! care all john

I miss you and some of the others but I needed to be where there was more input like there used to be here. I hoped that this site could make it back to the old days but I dont see that happening yet. I do check in from time to time to see how you are doing and I keep you in my prayers. Things are a day to day battle for me as for you since I ended up with fibro to add to the mix and that just makes my other chronic pain worse. Still on the same meds as 5 yrs ago and that't not good. I do try and get as much out of life as possible though and I do have good days and good memories so life is still worth hanging around for now. Take care and God bless. I've missed you too... and like you hope that life bets breathed back into the community here... but it is up to US. Yeah, pain was bad again today -- but you know, life is good and I am glad for the chance to live it. I felt that BIG storm that is getting us tonight this morning. I spent most of the day really sick from it and finally got up the energy to build a fire. I'm doing a lot better than this morning thank God! Thank you soooo much for prayers! How is your mom doing? I hope we don't have a stinker of a winter like last one... but the Olympic mnts are dusted with fresh snow already... so get ready! as to the legal state of the states -- it is a joke!! Even here in a "green state" with a dr.'s recomendation how are you supposed to get it? Growing it could land you in federal prison as could buying it... and driving to Seattle to pay street prices at Green Cross is ludicrous as well. So many are forced to damage their already fragile health by smoking, rather than cooking and eating, or making a tincture (both of which take many times more). It is wrong on so many levels! Oh well Hope to see you here more often, Karen it was nice to hear from you!

It's too bad folks don't come back and post cause it's everyone that makes this palce, like others too, a place sorta like 'home away from home,' ya know? I mean without each person posting as much as they can, given our pain I know that's tuff to do some days, then, well, I don't know what will happen............ keep coming and posting..................

If you notice Ohio, they have fines for misdeamenors but no jail time. I've been to court more than once, (never for possesion mind you, but have been a spectator of those who were) and they will give you all the time in the world to pay the fine, and will actually refuse to put you in jail if you don't have the $100 for the fine. Even the worse offenses are given "time off for good behavior" unless you try to kill a guard or something really stupid. They want you back to work, or home, or wherever, so you can get the money to pay that fine. Instead of making smokers carry the whole burden, they could legalize it and tax the hell out of it too. But the hangup is there's no real practical roadside test for marijuana intox. And blood tests are expensive. So if they pull you over and you haven't happen to be drinking too, they know you're DUI but can't prove it. Which will lead to lawsuits. It is all about the money. Pure and simple. I got an email tonight about Hannity doing a story on Obama. Talk about some spin city I'm not even going to bother watching it, BBC America is having something about it also, if I watch anything it'll be that. But as I keep saying, Obama will be nothing more than a media magnet, with the mainstream media manufacturing stories about him if they have to. Which may or may not be a good thing, Clinton got away with a lot of stuff while everyone was worried about the dress stain But McCain is simply a Bush clone, the only hope we have is someone has the balls to shoot him and put Palin in the Oval Office. But I really don't trust her either. And it doesn't matter how I vote, it only depends on if McCain can get enough money to buy Obamas's votes. Being Republican, I'm pretty sure he can. Unless he shoots his buddy in the face with a shotgun or some such ... So I'm still writing in Traci's name, I even entered you on that Decision '08 website Trac, but I don't think you made the primaries But you're the only one I think can pull this country out of the crap Gee Dubya has dumped us in.
