I'm so Glad to have found your forum!!! I've spent most of the day reading through archived threads and posts that I almost feel as though I know some of you personally.
My name is Chera, a former teacher, now disabled from Fibromyalgia and Degenerative Arthritis. My husband and I recently moved to KY @ 4 months ago and I've found it nearly impossible to find a physician willing to treat my chronic pain with the medications I'd previously been prescribed. It seems here, physicians have an entirely different approach to treating chronic pain patients...They DON'T. My former doc was WONDERFUL and so willing to work with me in figuring out which medications were best for me. Eventually, we found the Duragesic Patch combined with 2 Percocet a day for the breakthrough pain offered maximum pain relief with the least side effects.
The so called "pain management specialist" group I saw here were very rude and uncompassionate & totally disagreed with the treatment plan I'd been sucessful with.
Can anyone PLEASE suggest a compassionate physician thats willing to treat chronic pain patients with the necessary medications. I'm at my wits end and cannot afford to fly back and forth to Oregon.
